Dr. Laura Brunton is an Associate Professor in the School of Physical Therapy in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Western University, a Scientist with the CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research, and a registered physiotherapist.
Dr. Brunton is the Primary Investigator of the Child Health, Exercise, and Rest (CHEaR) Research Laboratory. The CHEaR Lab is focused on exploring and understanding fatigue experienced by individuals with childhood-onset conditions, such as cerebral palsy and spina bifida, and its relationships with physical activity, sleep, pain, and mental health.
Dr. Brunton also created the Fatigue Impact and Severity Self-Assessment (FISSA) to document the fatigue experience of people with cerebral palsy, which has since been translated to Danish and Hindi, with additional translations pending.
